Booking a hotel

Q.

When I search for hotels, why don’t I see the hotel name and exact location?

A.

On certain days, our hotel partners can offer unsold rooms at special prices through @MyWish. To enable us to offer you these quality hotel rooms at surprisingly low prices, we cannot disclose the name of the hotel or the exact location. The hotel name and exact location would be sent to you immediately after your purchase.

To enable you to make a right choice, we clearly list all the amenities, star rating of the hotel and the Area in the city. We personally visit all properties that we recommend and confirm that the amenities are as advertised. Hence, you can rest assured that you will get what is promised.

We also share the rating from our customers who have stayed at the hotels to enable you to assess the quality of service before making a purchase.

Q.

What is an Area?

A.

As a traveller, you typically want to stay close to your point of interest e.g. a customer location, airport, train station, city center, tourist attraction, etc. Since we cannot tell you the exact location of the hotel, (See: Why don’t I see the hotel name and exact location?), we provide the information about the area of the hotel.

Area enables you to select the appropriate hotel based on your location requirement. Before booking, you should review the area of the hotel on the “Read more” link in search results.

A city or a town is divided into multiple areas. Areas is defined such that one would able to travel from one point to other point in the same area  in approximately 30 minutes assuming normal traffic conditions using private car, taxi or rickshaw. Hence areas in the city center are typically smaller than the outskirts. Please review city areas on the “See map” link in search results.

What options are available for booking?

 

You have two options

  • Instant purchase: You can purchase the room at the advertised price
  • Wish & Purchase: Please review “What is Wish?” question in the FAQ below

Q.

Do I need to be a registered user to book a hotel on @MyWish?

A.

No. You do not need to be a registered user to book a hotel.

On your first purchase using your email address, @MyWish will automatically create an account for you, save your contact information and send login credentials to your email address. On your next booking, the system can pre-fill the contact information if you are signed in.

Q.

Is the booking cancellable?

A.

The hotels are able to offer you surprisingly low prices because the booking is non-modifiable, non-refundable and non-cancellable. You should only book when you are absolutely sure that you are going to travel. For more details, please read terms & conditions.

Q.

What happens if the facilities at the hotel are not as promised?

A.

We stand by our commitment. In case you find that the services offered at the hotel are not as per the promise made on our website, please call us on (020) 30277000 and we will resolve the issue to your satisfaction.

Q.

Can I book a hotel on phone?

A.

Yes. You can call our customer service representatives on (020) 30277000, Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 9 pm who will assist you with your booking. You will need credit card information and One time password (OTP) issued by the bank to make purchase on phone.

   
 

Wish

Q.

What is a Wish?

A.

Haven’t there been times, when those nice hotel rooms were slightly higher than your budget. Now we give you a tool to decide the hotel that you like and determine the price that you will pay.

How does it work:

  • From the search results, select the hotel that you like. Select “Wish & Purchase” to add the hotel to your wishlist. Enter the price that you would like to pay.
  • You can add up-to 3 hotels to the wishlist.
  • When you ready to wish, click on the “Proceed” button on the “Wishlist” screen
  • Enter your credit card details and complete the process
  • We will negotiate with the hotels on your behalf.
    • If the hotel agrees with the price, we will charge your credit card for the amount that you were willing to pay
    • If the hotel does not agree, your credit card is not charged. There is no cost to you.

Q.

What happens if I make a WISH on multiple hotels and more than one hotel accepts?

A.

Do not worry. This will never happen. We will always allocate only one hotel against a WISH. We start negotiating with the hotels in parallel and your business is given to the first hotel that accepts your wish.

Q.

Can I cancel a Wish?

A.

No. Once you place a wish, no modification or cancellation is allowed. If the hotel accepts your wish, we will charge your credit card or redeem your gift certificate as applicable.

   

 

Payment

Q.

What modes of payment can I use with @MyWish?

A.

We accept payment using following options:

  • Online payment: Payment by credit card, debit card, net-banking and cash cards. Pay through online payment gateway and get an instantaneous confirmation.
  • NEFT transaction: Payment by interbank wire transfer using RBI NEFT payment. We will send instructions to pay. Once the payment is credited to our bank account, we will confirm your booking. To know more about NEFT, please contact your bank or refer the following link
  • Cash on delivery: Pay in cash to our representative. Our representative will contact you to collect the payment in cash. Once we receive the payment, we will confirm your booking.

Q.

Why are some options disabled?

A.

An option is disabled if sufficient time is not available to complete the payment by this option before your first night of stay. Cash on delivery payment option is available only available for certain addresses. If the pin-code that you have entered is not serviceable by us, this option is disabled. Online payment option is always enabled.

Q.

Can I use any mode of payment for a WISH other than a credit card?

A.

Yes. You can use a gift certificate to pay for the WISH. Gift-certificate has to be equal to or higher than the WISH amount. If your wish is accepted, the Gift certificate value is used to pay for the room rent. If the wish is not accepted, your Gift certificate value remains intact.

In case you want to use any other mode of online payment (e.g. Net banking, Debit card), you can purchase gift certificates using this payment method and then use them to WISH. If the WISH is not successful, you can always use the gift certificate to pay for your next travel or gift it to your friends and family.

Q.

I have got a coupon. How can I use it?

 

Before making the purchase, @MyWish allows you to enter your coupon code. Any discount associated with the coupon is immediately reduced from the payable amount.

If you have signed in and have some reward points, you can use them towards purchase.

Q.

Why is the control transferred to another site for online payment?

A.

We have partnered with a payment gateway to process your online payments in a secure mode. Your payment details are safe.

Q.

Will my credit card or other financial data be secure?

A.

@MyWish does not store any credit-card or bank details. For further details, please visit our Privacy policy.

You should never disclose your credit card details to customer service representative or any other person at @MyWish. When booking on phone, the customer service agent will conference your call with an automated system where you can enter your card details securely.

   
 

Gift certificates

Q.

What is @MyWish gift certificate?

A.

You can purchase @MyWish gift certificate and gift it to your friends and family. They can redeem a certificate to pay for their booking through @MyWish.

A gift certificate is a unique alpha-numeric code which will be sent to you via email. Once this code is entered in our system, prior to purchase, the value of gift certificate is reduced from the total payable amount.

Q.

What denominations of Gift certificates are available to purchase?

A.

You can purchase any denomination of gift-certificate in multiple of Rs. 1.

Q.

What is the validity of gift certificate?

A.

A gift-certificate is valid for one year from date of issue.

Q.

What modes of payment are available to purchase a gift certificate?

A.

You can pay for a gift-certificate through online payment (i.e. credit card, debit card, internet banking, cash card).

Q.

Is there a restriction on number of gift certificates to be used for a transaction?

A.

There are no restrictions. You can use as many gift certificates as you want to pay for hotel booking or a WISH.

Q.

Can I redeem a gift certificate for a cash refund?

A.

No. Gift certificates can be used only to pay for a booking or a WISH.

Q.

Can I make partial redemptions on gift certificate?

A.

No. Gift certificates have to be utilized in one transaction only. Any residual amount is forfeited.

What happens if I have a problem after reaching the hotel?

A.

You can call the customer service hotline on (020) 30277000. Even when our office is closed, you can contact us in case of emergency using option 1 on interactive voice response system.
